Pearls and Plates is a unique culinary event that blends gourmet dining with the rich heritage of Australian pearling, featuring local produce, and exquisite Australian grown pearls from beautiful locations. Lizard Island Resort and Liddon Pearls have come together to bring this dining event to one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World.

Champagne & Canapes on the Beach

Savour Champagne Lallier and freshly shucked oysters as the sun sets over the beach, creating the perfect moment to unwind.

Pearl Discovery Session

Learn from the best with a pearl grading masterclass and enjoy a jewellery and ceramics display hosted by Michela Boriotti & Jesse Liddon.

6 course degustation dinner

Indulge in a passionately crafted 6 course dinner, paired with 6 Lallier Cuvees. A menu showcasing the best of the ocean, featuring Pearl & Reef ceramic table décor with a ceramic take home gift.

ABOUT CHAMPAGNE LALLIER

Nestled in the heart of the Aÿ region and owned by the Lallier family for over a century, Lallier celebrates 115-years of tradition, offering fresh perspectives and expressive winegrowing to Champagne making. We believe that the richness of the terroir is best yield and shared by those who recognise its infinite potential, letting it express it’s individual character. Today, Cellar Master Dominique Demarville continues to craft world-class cuvée Champagne with “Haute Couture” vinification technique’s, guided by his intuition of what he believes a wine should express.

Champagne Lallier calls home to two complementary locations in iconic Grand Crus region: the first in Aÿ, which houses our aging cellar, and the second in Oger, Côte des Blancs, where the Maison’s contemporary production facilities are held. Each location compliments the other, marrying aged old techniques with creative innovation.

 

ABOUT LIDDON PEARLS

 

This is not your grandmother’s strand of pearls, but pearls like you’ve never seen before. Stepping away from traditional settings and designs, Liddon Pearls strives to highlight the beauty of this natural gem with minimalist designs that are created for a sophisticated but hip woman who appreciates subtle luxury that is fresh and contemporary.

As opposed to seeking perfection, Italian Designer Michela Boriotti aims to celebrate the natural variation in shape and colour in her designs, which lend personality and importance to each individual piece. Liddon Pearls are harvested by the Liddon family at the Pelsaert pearl farm in Western Australia’s Abrolhos Islands, where the pristine water and coral gardens nurture the black lip oysters to create pearls with a gorgeous palette that is an inspiration and joy to work with. The brilliant lustre and pastel colours, lighter in tone than their Polynesian counterparts, make these gems extremely rare and precious in the pearl family.

Crafted in Italy, Michela’s designs are one-of-a-kind and very much a labour of love in collaboration with her husband, Jesse Liddon. Originally from a small town outside of Milan, Michela has always travelled the world and spent much of her life and career as a fashion designer working between Italy and Bali, Indonesia, where she met Jesse. The undeniable lure of an Australian boat captain, pearl farmer, lobster fisherman and musician from West Australia allowed her to finally create her own jewelry collection that began with her iridescent-green pearl engagement ring. Liddon Pearls is a celebration of life and love and finds inspiration in eclectic tastes and a passion for travel. Based in Perth, Jesse and Michela split their time between Australia, Indonesia and Italy.

Our visit was part of a special Penfolds 75 anniversary! We weren't sure what to expect but certainly were not disappointed. All meals were designed to match white and red wines and included a masterclass conducted by Penfolds winemaker Andrew Hales. In between all the wining and dining we had time to take a tinnie out for a picnic and snorkelling. - Truus

Food and wine were very impressive - far and away the best dining we've ever done at an all inclusive resort, and the food heavily features local in-season ingredients. Menus change daily and are creative and varied - we looked forward to every meal. - Nathan
