    Delaware North’s Lizard Island Resort has a Reward and Recognition program called Team Member of the Quarter. Team Member of the Quarter Awards are nominated for Front of House, Heart of House and Head of Department. Team members who exhibit model behaviour aligned to our Values and Behaviours are nominated by management and/or peers with a quarterly site winner announced and rewarded during our quarterly staff event.

    Loyalty Rewards

    Lizard Island Resort appreciates employees loyalty and makes an effort to acknowledge employment anniversaries. When employees reach milestones in their length of service, they are rewarded with the following:

    • 6 months- $100 Lizard Dollar Voucher
    • 12 months- $200 Lizard Dollar Voucher
    Social Club

    At Lizard Island Resort we want to make work enjoyable for team members and recognise that workplace culture plays a significant role in staff retention and engagement. Over the course of a year we spend a lot of time at work with our colleagues and as a result of this personal and professional relationships between peers evolve naturally.

    At all Delaware sites there are occasions when social activities are organised outside of work hours for team building purposes, ‘get to know you’ initiatives.

    Our Staff Social Club is very pro-active and organise events and activities every month including; movie nights, trivia and beach events, and Foxtel. Of course, it is expected that you will maintain a high level of personal and professional conduct during any Social Club events.

    We’re constantly working to improve the Social Club area for better facilities for all employees.

    Discounted Activities

    A day off at Lizard Island offers a multitude of choices for team members including; fishing, scuba diving, snorkelling, hiking or just lying on the beach.

    Diving & Snorkelling

    Subject to availability and ratio of guests and staff, team members are able to tour the reef aboard our dive vessel ‘Serranidae’ free of charge for a full day. Snorkelling is also available off some of the beautiful beaches around Lizard Island. To enjoy the most out of your free time, but don’t forget to bring your mask, snorkel and fins with you!

    Essentia Spa

    The Spa offers a variety of treatments including hairdressing, facials, massage and waxing. Team members are welcome to make bookings at great discounted rates. Bookings are subject to availability and unfortunately cannot always be guaranteed.

    Salt Water Restaurant

    Subject to availability, staff can dine in Salt Water Restaurant at discounted rates. Speak with your Line Manager or HR Department to arrange this.

    Vouchers worth $40 are given to staff for the voucher recipient and one other person to be used for breakfast only in the Saltwater Restaurant. This is subject to availability after completing and submitting a Dining Request Form to the F&B management team.

    The Marlin Bar

    The Marlin Bar is a public bar, where boaties, National Park guests and staff can relax, alongside resort guests. It’s open 3 days a week with various opening hours. Always remember that whilst you’re at the Marlin Bar, you’re still recognisable as a representative of Lizard Island, so we expect your behaviour to reflect this.

    If you are looking for the most friendly, comfortable, and exquisite place to relax, this is it! Sand, sun, snorkel, dive, boat, paddle board, hike, relax. It’s all here! The spa was awesome with Beck, best pedicure ever. Ava was awesome on the beach, Magic was totally chill and helpful. The whole crew on the dive boat was awesome. The cabins on the beach are amazing. But the food, and diversity of menus was off the chart. Wine pairings to match. - Tom

    A spectacular island and resort! It is truly a wonderful experience from the beach to the water, the sunsets, the sea life, the birds and the spa pampering. The staff could not be more accommodating, professional, and helpful all in a most impressive and genuine manner. The accommodation is tops; well kept and maintained.     Lizard Island is the northern most island resort on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef - 240 kilometres north of Cairns.
