Check out

Check out time is 10.00am.
Details of your departure including your air or sea transfers will be delivered to your room the evening prior to your scheduled departure. We ask that you be in the Lodge area at least 45 minutes prior to departure so as not to delay the scheduled service times.


Credit facilities & foreign exchange

All products and services purchased at the Resort may be charged to your room account and settled on checkout. All major credit cards are accepted. Please note, Lizard Island Resort is cashless and we do not accept cheques.


Dress standard

You are here to relax! Lizard Island does not have a strict dress code but we would suggest relaxed, casual wear during the day and perhaps something a little more special for dinner. We request that footwear and a shirt be worn at all times in the Lodge, Restaurant and Bar area.

In the event of an emergency, please contact reception for immediate attention:

In the event of an emergency evacuation, you will be instructed by our staff.


Gymnasium

Open 24 hours per day.
Located next to the tennis court, our gym is equipped with the most modern equipment. Please be aware of the safety operating instructions in the gymnasium and if you require any assistance in the operation of the equipment, please contact reception. There are bathrooms, towels, a cold water receptacle and light entertainment in the area for your added convenience.


Medical assistance

Lizard Island has a dedicated First Aid Clinic which is attended by first aid responders. Should you require medical assistance at any time, or in the event of an emergency, please contact the following for immediate attention:

7.00am – 11.00pm: Dial 9 for an appointment
11.00pm – 7.00am: Dial 9 (Overnight Manager on Duty)

We also have 24-hour contact with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in the event that medical evacuation is required. Fees do apply for this service.

Open 7.00am and 11.00pm Daily.
For any urgent enquiries outside of these hours, please contact the Overnight Manager on Duty (Dial 9).


Mail & Email

The Australian postal service operates Monday to Friday. Any incoming mail will be delivered to your room, whilst outgoing mail may be deposited at reception. Postcards are available at the Boutique. For your incoming mail our address is:

Messages

Messages can be sent to the SMART TV and checked under the Message icon on the TV. Phone messages and emails will be delivered to your room.


Mobile Phones

Due to the remote location of the resort, there is no mobile phone coverage. We ask that no WiFi-enabled calls are made in the main Lodge and Spa areas for the comfort and consideration of other guests. Land-line telephones are available in your room.


Off island travel assistance

Our reception staff are able to assist you with any of your travel arrangements such as confirmation of mainland flights, hotel reservations transfers and car hire.


Newspapers & Magazines

Daily newspapers and current magazines are available in the Lodge for your convenience. Newspapers are delivered daily on the schedules air service at 12.30pm.


Tennis Court

Our flood-lit all weather tennis court is available for use until 9.00pm daily. Racquets and balls are available from Reception.


Tipping staff

Our staff work as a team and work extremely hard to ensure that your visit to Lizard Island is a memorable and a truly unique experience. All staff are instructed not to receive any personal gratuities of more than AUD$50 each. Should you wish to leave a gratuity for our staff, this can be arranged at check out and will be distributed to all our front and back of house staff.


Restricted Areas

When in the vicinity of the airstrip, please remain off the main runway tarmac (there are regular aircraft movements) and do keep outside the marked white cones at all times. All back of house operating areas, Staff Village and Maintenance area are restricted to resort personnel only and we thank you for your co-operation in not accessing these areas.


Time Difference

Lizard Island operates on Australian Eastern Standard Time (+10 hours Greenwich Mean Time) all year. There is no daylight saving in the state of Queensland.


Vehicle & Ocean vessel awareness

Please be aware, vehicles and vessels, both recreational and commercial, operate around the resort during the day. When walking, running or swimming in these shared zones and especially on the roads, please be vigilant at all times. Our staff are highly trained in the use of these vehicles however we do ask for your co-operation.
