Lizard Island Gin Tasting Masterclass

Wolf Lane Tropical Gin features botanicals sourced from the region’s Atherton Tablelands along with tropical fruit flavours like grapefruit, lime and mango, and is best served over ice with soda and a garnish of grapefruit. Wolf Lane gin flight tastings are a popular sunset pastime at the Driftwood Bar and feature three of the distillery’s spirits, Tropical Gin, Navy Strength Gin and Davidson Plum Gin.

Sam Kennis who co-owns Wolf Lane Distillery in Cairns said the small batch distilled Tropical Gin was crafted in partnership with the food and beverage team at Lizard Island with the idea of creating a tropical style gin that was refreshing and unique to Tropical North Queensland.

Guests also have the opportunity to take home their very own bottle of signature Lizard Island gin.

Our visit was part of a special Penfolds 75 anniversary! We weren't sure what to expect but certainly were not disappointed. All meals were designed to match white and red wines and included a masterclass conducted by Penfolds winemaker Andrew Hales. In between all the wining and dining we had time to take a tinnie out for a picnic and snorkelling. - Truus
