Divers with Medical Conditions

Australian Scuba Diving Standards require that all certified divers are medically fit to dive. Certain medical conditions may exclude you from diving at Lizard Island, for example, asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, heart, lung or blood disorders of any kind. If you are taking any medication you may also be excluded from diving at Lizard Island.

If you suffer from a medical condition or are taking medication, a fully completed Medical Form (AS4005.1) is to be completed by a Medical Practitioner with knowledge of diving medicine, prior to your arrival on Lizard Island.

This form must be presented to the Lizard Island Marine Centre before you will be able to participate in any form of diving. A list of accredited doctors can be obtained from the website for the South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society: www.spums.org.au

If you do not have this Medical Form and have a medical condition, you may be excluded from diving on Lizard Island.

Divers Travelling By Aircraft

Please be advised that safety regulations on Lizard Island require that divers are not permitted to fly for a minimum of 24 hours after their last dive.
