Q. Is room service available at the Resort?
A. . We offer a fully-stocked mini bar in each room (included in the room rate) as unfortunately room service is unavailable. Osprey's Restaurant is open for meals from 7:00am to 10:30am for Breakfast, 12:00noon to 2:30pm for Lunch and 6:30pm to 9:00pm for Dinner. Q. What is the cost of the Signature Beach Dining Experience?

Q. Do you offer any other private dining locations?
A. Given the close proximity of the beach to the Restaurant, the beach is the only location that we can provide private dining and ensure the high standard of all meals is maintained.
Q. What should I wear?
A. Lizard Island provides the ultimate reef and relaxation experience. We recommend casual wear during the day to cater for any activities you have planned and smart casual to semi formal during the evenings. Click here for information on the weather.
Q. Are there any jelly fish or stingers and do you have stinger suits?
A. Jelly fish tend to be spotted between October and March. Stinger suits are available for hire from the Marine Centre.
Q. Can you swim all year round?
A. Yes, Lizard Island is ideal for swimming all year round.
Q. What is the water temperature around the Island?
A. The water temp stays warm all year. It only ever gets as low as 23'C and rises to to approximately 30'c during the summer months.
Q. If I am bringing my own wetsuit, what thickness would you recommend?
A. 5mm wetsuits are available at Lizard Island and work well throughout the year. If you find you get cold easily, you may wish to use a shark skin suit.
Q. Do you have wetsuits available for hire at the Resort?
A. Yes, we have both short and long 5mm wetsuits available for guests to use.
Q. Is there mobile phone reception?
A. Our guests welcome the luxury of knowing that as soon as they arrive on Lizard Island there is no mobile (cell) phone reception due to the remote location of the Resort.
Q. Is the internet available in the rooms?
A. Guests staying in the Pavilion do have access to 3G high speed internet. Complimentary internet access is provided in the Guest Lounge, which is accessible 24 hours a day as there is no internet connection in the remaining rooms and suites.
Q. Why do I need to give credit card details at the time of my reservation?
A. A valid credit card is required to guarantee your reservation, however no charges are processed until check out.
Q. Are the menus the same every day?
A. There is a change of menu daily – therefore no lunch or dinner menu will be the same throughout your stay.
Q. What is the cost for storing luggage at Cairns Airport and how long can I store my luggage for?
A. We recommend using the storage facility at the Hinterland Aviation terminal. It is free for the duration of your stay (limited space is available). Alternatively, you may choose to store excess luggage at your Cairns hotel if staying in Cairns before and/or after your stay at Lizard Island.
Q. Where can I dine on Lizard Island?
A. Ospreys restaurant offers a beautiful setting in which guests can enjoy a fabulous dining experience while on the Island. Please let us know at the time of booking your stay of any food dislikes or allergies prior to arrival so our chef can cater to your needs.
Q. Are vegetarian/gluten free/vegan diets catered for?
A. Yes, vegetarian/gluten free/vegan diets are all catered for. Please advise at the time of booking of any special dietary requirements.
Q. Are dive packages available and what does it include?
A. Dive packages are available, including a full day tour with two certified divers or a 1/2 day tour with one certified diver.
Q. What are the restrictions with diving and flying?
A. It is a requirement that you must not dive within 24 hours of flying.
Q. Can you dive right off the Island?
A. Yes, you may dive directly off the island and explore our wonderful fringing reefs.
Q. How many engines are on the Hinterland planes?
A. Hinterland Aviation has a fleet of different aircraft. Some are single engine whilst others are twin engine. The type of aircraft is subject to availability and passenger load.
Q. Can fuel be purchased from the resort?
A. Guests staying at the resort with their own vessels are able to purchase fuel. In all other instances, fuel unfortunately cannot be purchased due to the limited supply available.
Q. How do I get to Lizard Island?
A. Lizard Island is accessed via a 60 minute scenic flight from Cairns. Flights to and from the Island depart up to twice daily and are organised via our Reservations Team.
Q. Do the flights to and from Lizard Island have luggage restrictions?
A. There is a 32kg luggage limit per person (including hand luggage) on all flights to and from Lizard Island. Secure luggage storage is available at the Hinterland Aviation Terminal (complimentary) if required.
Q. What if the flight times to and from Lizard Island do not suit me?
A. If the normal flight times are not suitable, we will happily organise a private charter flight for you at your preferred time. Please contact our Reservations Team for details.
Q. Can I camp on Lizard Island?
A. Camping is available on Lizard Island. Please contact Queensland Parks & Wildlife Services for details on availability and rates or visit their website.
